Dentures, sets of fake teeth, are used by multiple of our patients. And while false teeth are a good option if you are missing pearly whites, lots of our patients have confided in us that they’re disappointed they let their pearly whites get to the point of needing dentures. If you have any missing pearly whites, complete or partial dentures are perhaps right for you, and we’d be happy to set up a consultation for you. If you still have all of your natural chompers, please deliberate on the following advice.
There are many reasons why people lose pearly whites and need to get false teeth: poor oral hygiene, infrequent dental visits, physical damage, smoking, acid reflux, diabetes, high blood pressure, advanced age and more. The greatest way to prevent needing dentures is to maintain a healthy oral hygiene routine.
Keeping a solid hygiene routine means brushing your chompers with fluoride toothpaste two times a day, flossing once per day and visiting our office for cleanings often. To decrease your risk of developing gum disease and decaying teeth, avoid tobacco, limit alcohol intake and be careful of excessively sugary foods and drinks.
We want all of our patients to enjoy their natural teeth for life. If for any reason you do need to get dentures, don’t fret: they can be comfortable, attractive and powerful stand-ins for natural chompers.
